Join me for an immersive three-day, intermediate-level class where you’ll build a beautifully constructed Dream Weaver Backpack while refining essential leatherworking techniques.

Throughout this class, we will focus on clean construction and practical, repeatable techniques, including:

· Creating zippered pockets

· Installing a zippered top closure

· Making backpack straps using thin, comfortable leather

· Creating a well-fitted fabric liner (no baggy liners)

· Constructing a flap with magnetic closure (Note: Decorative stitching will not be covered in this class)

· Achieving clean construction with fully finished edges

· Operating and sewing with industrial sewing machines

By the end of the class, you will leave with a completed backpack, a full pattern, and the knowledge and confidence to recreate the design on your own.

Materials:

Students will pick out and purchase their own bag leather from Maker’s.

Recommended leather options:

· Julie Baugher Chap Leather

· Lonestar Lineup

· Bag Leather in 3-4 oz with a soft hand

All other materials will be provided:

· Dark brown trim (strap connectors, zipper windows, straps, and YKK zipper tape)

· Brass hardware

· Neutral solid fabric for lining

A minimum of six students is required for the class to run. If the class does not meet the minimum enrollment, a full refund will be issued by check to avoid processing fees.
