Give worn-out cushions a clean, professional second life.
Reupholstering a cushion doesn’t require a full upholstery shop or years of experience. In this practical, beginner-friendly course, you’ll learn how to reupholster a cushion from start to finish using proven techniques that deliver clean lines, proper fit, and a professional appearance.

Led by experienced upholsterer and leather craftsman Skyler Duckworth, this course will walk you through the full process step by step—from measuring and cutting to sewing, pleating, and final assembly. Along the way, Skyler shares practical tips for working with foam, scrim, vinyl, and zippers so your finished cushion looks intentional, not improvised. Whether you’re refreshing furniture, upgrading shop projects, or adding upholstery skills to your leathercraft toolbox, this course gives you a solid foundation you can build on.

About the Instructor:
Skyler Duckworth is a foreman in the small leather goods and silver shop at Sunset Trails of Burns Saddlery and brings a lifetime of upholstery experience to his teaching. Trained from an early age as his mother’s apprentice, Skyler has also operated a professional upholstery shop with his mother and built saddles under award-winning makers at Burns Saddlery. With additional training in silversmithing and engraving, his approach blends practical problem-solving with production-level craftsmanship, helping students achieve durable, professional results.
