Modeling Spoon Magic

Join us at Maker’s Leather Supply in Waco for a hands-on class with Bianca Isabel, an incredibly talented figure carving artist known for her ability to bring depth and life into leather.

In this session, students will carve a striking Quarter Horse head with headstall while learning Bianca’s approach to creating detail, optical depth, and dimension—using primarily a modeling spoon alongside a few essential tools. Working on a thin, flat piece of leather, this class focuses on refining technique and understanding how subtle movement can transform a design into something that feels alive.

What to Bring

  • Small, rounded modeling spoon (required — please be sure to bring this)
  • Swivel knife
  • Beveler (regular, smaller sizes)

About the Instructor

Bianca Isabel is a German-born leather artist now based in the United States, with a lifelong foundation in the arts. She began her journey in leathercraft in 2020 and quickly developed a deep appreciation for both the medium and its creative possibilities.

In 2022, she found her true focus in figure carving, a discipline that allows her to merge fine art with traditional craftsmanship. Since then, Bianca has dedicated herself to exploring how detail, depth, and dimension can bring leather to life. Her work reflects both a refined artistic eye and a strong commitment to mastering the craft.
