This beginner-focused class introduces students to the fundamentals of leather tooling in a hands-on, approachable way. All materials and tools are prepared in advance, allowing students to focus entirely on learning how tooling works, how to set up for a project, and how to confidently use the most common hand tools.

Brandon “Swift” Corral takes a non-traditional teaching approach that emphasizes core art fundamentals like shape, depth, texture, and flow rather than strict patterns or conventional design rules. This helps students build a stronger foundation that can be applied to any style of leatherwork.

By the end of the class, students will understand basic tooling principles and complete their first tooled practice piece while gaining confidence with essential tools and techniques.

Students will learn:
