In this half-day class, Brandon “Swift” Corral breaks down his complete design philosophy and workflow for building highly complex leather projects from concept to layout. Students will learn how he bridges modern digital tools with traditional hand-drawn methods to develop layered, intentional designs that hold up across curved, folded, and three-dimensional surfaces. The class focuses on the full design pipeline: concept development, digital composition strategies, analog sketch refinement, and translating flat design into functional leather architecture. Special attention will be given to planning for distortion, flow across form, and maintaining visual cohesion in intricate multi-layered work. By the end of the class, students will have a clearer understanding of how to design more ambitious projects with confidence, and how to combine digital precision with traditional craftsmanship to create cohesive, complex leatherwork.

Students will learn Swift's full design process for building complex leatherwork, including how he combines digital tools and traditional sketching to create detailed templates and blueprints, with a live demonstration of how a complete project plan is developed from concept to final layout.

Brandon “Swift” Corral is an award-winning leather artist, educator, and content creator known for his dramatic tooling style, sculptural leatherwork, and non-traditional approach to teaching. Over the past four years, Swift has taught at major leather trade shows across the country, sharing techniques focused on depth, realism, and modern leather artistry. His online content and educational videos have reached millions of viewers, helping inspire a new generation of leatherworkers through social media, live demonstrations, podcasts, and workshops.
