Cowhide Christmas Stockings with Mackenzie Crable

Join us for a hands-on Cowhide Christmas Stocking Class where you’ll create two beautiful, heirloom-quality stockings from start to finish.

 ✨ Each participant will:

• Make 2 custom cowhide stockings

• Take home a reusable stocking pattern

• Receive a detailed instruction pamphlet so you can recreate them again and again

This is a full beginner class — no experience required! Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or you’re just wanting a fun holiday project, we’ll guide you every step of the way. Come enjoy a creative, western-inspired holiday experience and leave with stockings made to last for years of Christmas mornings. 

What you Will Learn: 

•  The basics of cutting and working with cowhide and chap leather
•  How to properly place patterns on hide for the best look and minimal waste 
•  The basics of cutting leather fringe (optional) to add custom detail to your stocking 
•  How to create and tie bleed knots for decorative fringe finishes
•  The fundamentals of operating a Cobra sewing machine
•  Basic leather construction techniques used in stocking assembly

What to Bring:

• Rotary knife (can be found on Amazon or at most craft stores)
• Straight edge – my personal preference is a Makers Leather Supply centering ruler
• Cutting mat (available at most craft stores)
• Sharp scissors
• Slotted conchos (optional, for decorative detail)

Mackenzie is the owner of Arrow M Saddlery with over 10 years of leatherworking experience. She specializes in custom western pieces and loves teaching beginners how to confidently create heirloom-quality leather goods.
