Whether you've never opened a design program before or you've been intimidated by digital tools, this half-day class is designed to get you started. Brandon "Swift" Corral introduces the fundamentals of digital design from the ground up, covering the hardware, software, and core concepts every leatherworker needs to confidently begin creating digital patterns and templates.

Students will learn how to navigate basic design software, understand common file types, organize projects, and recreate the templates they already make by hand in a faster, cleaner, and more flexible digital workflow.

 Along the way, Swift will demonstrate practical techniques that save time, improve consistency, and make future modifications effortless. The goal isn't to turn students into graphic designers overnight, but to give them the confidence and foundational skills needed to begin incorporating digital design into their own leatherwork and prepare them for more advanced design techniques.

Students will learn the essentials of digital design for leathercraft, including selecting the right software, understanding basic computer workflows, creating clean digital templates, and using simple tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability in their projects.

Brandon “Swift” Corral is an award-winning leather artist, educator, and content creator known for his dramatic tooling style, sculptural leatherwork, and non-traditional approach to teaching. Over the past four years, Swift has taught at major leather trade shows across the country, sharing techniques focused on depth, realism, and modern leather artistry. His online content and educational videos have reached millions of viewers, helping inspire a new generation of leatherworkers through social media, live demonstrations, podcasts, and workshops.
