Expedition Crossbody Bag With Leandra Martin

In this workshop you will be making a modern "fanny pack" style crossbody purse with a cordura fabric liner and decorative webbing for the strap. You will learn how to construct a professional quality bag by learning how to reduce the bulk in seams, turn raw edges, and create a fabric liner with seam binding.

We will discuss leather options for giving this bag structure without excess bulk, fabric options for the liner that easily wipe clean, and other materials for bag construction that will help your understanding in bag making and design.

 You will go home with a complete purse and pattern to make future products for your customers.

Leandra Martin, based in Twin Falls, Idaho, has been specializing in custom leatherwork and purse making for over nine years. She has spent the past three years sharing her expertise by teaching purse making classes both in her local shop and at leather trade shows. Leandra’s deep connection to western craftsmanship and lifestyle is reflected in her designs, which combine functionality with timeless style. In 2025, she expanded her skills by completing a boot making course with Schwarz Boots and is now pursuing her passion for custom cowboy boot making full time.
