In this hands-on class, you will craft a full leather tote featuring a secure zipper closure, a beautiful Pendleton front pocket, and optional fringe for added western flair.
This design blends classic craftsmanship with a refined boutique feel — the kind of bag you’ll carry for years.
Each participant will receive:
• A reusable tote pattern to take home
• A detailed instruction pamphlet
• Step-by-step guidance throughout the build process
Whether you’re looking to expand your leatherworking skills or create a one-of-a-kind statement piece, this class offers both confidence-building instruction and a truly elevated finished product.
What you Will Learn:
- Cutting and working with bag leather
- Basics of using a Cobra sewing machine
- Cutting and attaching leather fringe (optional)
- Installing a zipper for a secure closure
- Creating a pocket from Pendleton wool
- Using basic leatherworking tools safely
What to Bring:
- Rotary cutter
- Straight edge – a ruler or leather centering ruler works best
- Cutting mat (available at craft stores)
- Sharp scissors
- All leather, Pendleton wool, fringe, zippers, and other materials will be provided in class.
Mackenzie is the owner of Arrow M Saddlery with over 10 years of leatherworking experience. She specializes in custom western pieces and loves teaching beginners how to confidently create heirloom-quality leather goods.
