Design leather floral patterns that flow

Great leather tooling starts with strong design. In this course, Gordon Andrus teaches the principles behind creating balanced, flowing floral designs for leather tooling, helping you move beyond copying patterns to truly understanding how they work.
You’ll learn how the core elements of floral tooling—flowers, stems, and supporting forms like acanthus—connect and grow together to create natural movement and structure for the eye to follow. With a focus on how leather design differs from drawing in the natural world, this course gives you the tools to design patterns that feel cohesive and intentional.

Whether you’re continuing your training in western floral tooling or looking to improve your design work, this course helps you bring more clarity and confidence to every pattern you create.
